Summer Maxi Dresses – One Fabric Two Ways!

Loading ....

In this sewing pattern review 2020 video we discuss summer maxi dress patterns. We collaborated with Material Girl Laura who provided us each with 3 metres of gorgeous matching fabric (same print, two different colour-ways). We secretly decided which patterns to sew and only revealed them to each other when they were complete! Imagine our surprise when we both ended up with a DIY maxi dress with split.

Rachel used the Janice Paisley Pima Cotton Lawn for her sew maxi dress with sleeves. The Material Girl Laura fabric is still in stock and you can find it here:

Rachel adapted our Stitch Sisters Kaftan – a DIY tutorial with no pattern which you can find for FREE on our blog:

Nikki used the Monica Paisley Pima Cotton Lawn for her sew maxi dress with elastic waist. The Material Girl Laura fabric is still in stock and you can find it here:

Nikki used the summer maxi dress pattern by True Bias – the Southport Dress, which you can find here:

Pima cotton fabrics are a dream to work with and they move beautifully. The perfect fabric for lightweight summer maxi dresses ideas. You can find all of the Pima Cottons available from Material Girl Laura here:

We hope you enjoy our sewing pattern review!
